Description:

Eddie Thomas was evacuated, with his mother, from Croydon at the beginning of World War II, initially to live with his Aunt in Bacton and later in Newton, where he went to school. This collection begins with an oral history of Bacton and Newton during the war and the immediate aftermath as recalled by Eddie in an interview recorded by the Ewyas Lacy Study Group. This is available both as an audio archive and a transcription. These are supported by contemporary photographs and documents relating to Bacton and Newton at that time.
