Bush-Lwyn Farm Bacton c. 1940: Rear view of double ridged house with “ty bach”/outside toilet on left. Veranda covered a stone sink and washing area with water tap (original well infilled). Entrance to cIder mill and horse stable left of stone sink. Gate on right to kitchen garden and front of house. Farm buildings behind house for stabling of milk cow with adjacent hay barn. Bush-Lwyn farm was originally over 100 acres and included the Paradise Farm set in extensive woodland but much of this was sold to nearby estate and by 1940 had been reduced to 15 acres. Four small fields remained for grazing and apple trees and a large 8 acre field kept for arable.

Bush-Lwyn Farm, Bacton, c. 1951; On  holiday visit from Croydon, with my mother next to Aunty Nellie and my brother Richard on left plus relations of late Uncle Will about to return to Midlands. Note the “tin” bath on wall and the stone sink with water tap, whose supply was on a branch of the local estate’s “spring” water source.
