Description:

This photograph shows the mill weir on the Escley Brook, about 1/3rd of a mile upstream from the Mill. The section of the weir in bottom left of the picture had been completely washed away, cutting off the supply of water to the mill. It was rebuilt in concrete blocks, faced and capped with local stone quarried from the riverbed nearby.
