Image of newspaper cutting dated 31 October 1840 advertising the sale by auction by Mr John Williams of four lots all in occupation of Mr William Davies or his under-tenants: Penydre Farm in the townships of Longtown and Llanveynoe, with 66 acres and right of common on the Black Mountains - the land is said to lie well for irrigation and is planted with fruit trees [orchard]; 5 parcels of meadow and wood land known as the Keven Lands, about 13 acres; two cottages, one the site of an old Smith’s Forge, and about 4 acres; meadow land called Gworlod John Ivor, about 4 acres.
