Title: | Digital Archive: Photographs of John Macnamara Grave |
Place name: | LLangoed |
Date: | 2025 |
Description:
The following photographs of the grave of John and Arthur Macnamara on private land at Llangoed Hall were kindly sent to us by Cath Janes in February 2025. She wrote:
Following a visit to Llangoed Hall … I visited the graveyard where Macnamara was buried. I noticed that the tomb had partially collapsed leaving a small yet extremely dark opening to the elements. Using my phone for light I was able to get a photo of the inside of the tomb. Inside there were two coffins, one (assuming it to be Macnamara’s) being very oddly shaped. Knowing that there are apocryphal stories about Macnamara’s burial wishes [these photographs] may clear up any questions.
