Title: | Video Archive: Restoration of Penwyrlod, an isolated cottage in the Black Mountains |
Place name: | Ewyas Lacy |
Date: | 2001 |
Description:
Video Archive clip by Channel 4. The author’s description is as follows:
In 2001, Adrian and Carina Phillips decided to take on the ruin of a 300 year old building called Penwyrlod in the Brecon Beacons National Park on the border of Ewyas Lacy, and make it into their first home. The building known locally as Points had belonged to former generations of the Phillips family. Sited up a steep hill with no vehicular access, it had been abandoned after the Second World War and had largely fallen into ruin. Aired in August 2001, “Grand Designs: The Isolated Cottage” captured the highs, lows, pitfalls and occasional landslips that went into restoring Points into a family home.
