The Land Tax Assessments show the names of the proprietor and occupier and the amount of the tax assessed, but the column on the forms intended to identify the property is generally either not filled in or contains a generic description such as ‘messuage’ rather than specific property names.
Observations:
Specific property names can often be discovered by cross referencing the names of property owners and tenants shown in land tax records with Manorial Court Rolls, Manorial Surveys and/or registers of leases and rentals.
