Description:

1. Will 19 February 1654 .
Beneficiaries:
To his wife Elizabeth, all his several freehold houses, lands and tenements within the parish of Clodock with all the moveable goods, cattle and chattels to be used for the maintenance of herself and the children until son, David reaches 21.

When David becomes 21 one half of the 4 copyhold premises are left to his wife for her lifetime provided she does not remarry and remains 'a constant widdowe'. Should she marry or live with a man she forfeits everything to the executor who has discretion to use them for the good of the children until David reaches 21 when he is to inherit the other half of the said copyhold properties. The half that was left to the mother is to pass to daughter, Mary when she reaches 21 and she is to retain these properties until her brother David pays her £80 for them.
To testamentary and funeral expenses, £6.
To Mary Gunter, one 3 year old heifer at May next after his death. .
