Note re leasehold lands late of Charles Thomas, dec’d.

A ruinous cottage and garden, 2 closes of meadow, 2 closes of pasture, 2 closes of arable, in all 3a.3r.4p and valued at about £ 3 pa (boundaries given).  This part undated.

23 March 1802:  John Thomas of Lower Mescoed, shoemaker, died Feb 1802 (and was the eldest son of Charles Thomas who died c. 1789 who left a widow named Mary who died c. 1797).  It is doubtful if James Thomas, one of the lives named in D1583.4.74 is still living.  He was in the county (Herefordshire) c. 1800 for a short time and then returned to London and has not been heard of since.

14 May 1802: a new leasehold to be granted to John Thomas, shoemaker, aged 29 for his own life, that of Elizabeth his wife aged 29, and that of Elizabeth their daugher aged about 4. Fine £35.
