1500s - 1800s
Digital Images of Wills and Probate Records which were proved in the Welsh ecclesiastical courts before the introduction of Civil Probate in 1858 have been deposited in the National Library of Wales. These include probates relating to the parishes and townships of Ewyas Lacy [apart from Cusop], which until that time fell under the jurisdiction of the consistory court of the archdeaconry of Brecon. More information on the historical background and the NLW collections is available through the online index on the National Library of Wales website .
A full listing of the probate records for the Parishes and Townships of Ewyas Lacy has been extracted from the National Library of Wales online catalogue for our Digital Archive and the images of the original documents can be viewed by following the relevant links. At the moment no digital images are available on the NLW website for documents pre-1660 and in those cases the document details are given without a corresponding link.
