Herefordshier To the shirriff of the said county etc.

 

Whereas John Delahay esquire lord of the manor of Urishay Clothye Hopkin and Trileis Hope alias Trenant lately deceased did give devise and bequeath the said manor with their appurtenances unto his couzen Thomas Delahay of Welbrooke gentleman first and nearest relation to continue the name of Delahay. This is therefore to certifie you that the said Thomas Delahay have caused a court of view of franck pledge and enquiry to be made within the said mannor concernnge the due observaccion of the king’s peace and other things relatinge to the said courte in manner as heretofore tyme out of minde the same hath been kept And that it was held the nineteenth day of this instant April Anno domini 1726 at the place where the same is usually kept within the mannor of Clothye Hopkin where the tenants appeared a jurry sworn and the charge given.

Ad visum francki pledgii unacum Curia Baronis Thome Delahay domini manerii predicti tentum infra manerium predictum duo decimo die Octobris Anno regni domini nostri Georgii dei Gracia Magna Brittania Francia & Hiberniae regis fidei defensor etc. Annoque domini 1725.

Imprimis   Wee the said jurors doe say & present that all persons that were lawfully summoned to appear at this court and thereof have made default are in the lord’s mercy. Tenants per caput 3s Resiants per caput 1s

 

Item:   Wee the said jurors doe present the death of Elinor the wife of James Gilbert and that there was a heriot due to the lord of this manor unless a just cause can be shewd to the contrary.

 

Item:   Wee the said jurors doe present Thomas Prichard and John Price for not keeping sufficient gates and fences upon the lane leading from Oatley to the Urishay Common & also to Thomas Smyths.

 

Item:    Unless it [so put] in right order between this and the [?following       ] if not: wee the said jurors doe amerce them in: 6s -8d .

 

Lastly: Wee have nothing more to present at this time.

Ad visus francki pledgii unacum Curia Baronis Magdalene Delahay et domini manerii predicti tentum infra manerium predictum vicesimo septo die Aprilis Anno regni domini nostri Georgii secundo dei Gratia Magna Brittaniae Franciae & Hiberniae regis fidei defensor etc. primo. Annoque domini 1728.
