Michaelmas 1743

 

Mannor of Willbrook alias Wirkbrook.

 

At the court baron of John Delahay esq lord of the said mannor kept at the dwelling house of Thomas Draper within the said mannor called or known by the name or sign of the Hostrey the 17th day of October in the seventeenth year of the reign of our sovereign lord George the second by the grace of God of Great Britain and so forth. And in the year of our lord 1743. John Weare gent steward.

Imprimis   We the jurors being sworn and impannelled to enquire on behalf of the lord of the mannor do present as followeth.

Item   We present Edward Glover, William Williams, John Weston, John Draper, William Jones, John Jones, Charles Watkins, William Jones of Upper Crossway, John Jones flax dresser, Tho Pritchard, John Thomas, Daniel Bird, Walter Powell, William Price & James Pritchard, who severally owe suit & service to this court, And made default in appearing, And we do amerce each of them in the sum of two shillings each.

 

Item   We also present that a common foot passage over ther Old Brook between the township of Hinton & Peterchurch within this mannor leading from Hinton to Wilmeston is in  decay & dangerous to passengers, and ought to be repaired by the Revd Mr William Seward Mr Walter Delahay & Mr Henry Llanwarn ,and we do lay a pain of thirty nine shillings on each of them the said William Seward, Walter Delahay & Henry Llanwarn, that they repair the same on or before the 25th day of December next, And that John Beavan & Henry Prosser or one of them certify at next court under the like penalty.

 

              We have nothing more to present.
