Title:

Manor of Jenkin Prichard/Manor of Newton rent book

Place name:

Newton, Michaelchurch Escley

Date:

1700s

Description:

An inventory of rents for the Manor of Jenkin Prichard, also known as the Manor of Newton, is set out on two sides of a single sheet of paper. The reverse side has two columns, only one of which is legible as the other column, written in pencil, is now faded. Although parts of the document are dated in the middle and late 18th century, the initial part, though undated, gives personal names relating to landholdings listed in the Manorial Survey for John Jeffreys in 1705. A digital image of the document is shown below the transcription.
