Michaelchurch Court Victorian Wing looking West from the forecourt; 1975

Michaelchurch Court Victorian Wing looking south-east from the forecourt; 1975

Observations:

The roof was stripped of its original stone tiles for their resale value sometime in the early 70s and was left open to the elements because at the time this exempted the building from Council rates. The roof timbers and interior floors and fittings had therefore deteriorated beyond salvage by the time these photographs were taken. Photographs of the sale of effects at Michaelchurch Court in 1970 include a picture of the intact Victorian wing in the background for comparison.
