Digital Archive: Map of the location of a World War 2 bomb dropped near Kingstone
1940 - 1941
A number of cases of random German bombing took place in Herefordshire in the early years of World War 2. Most bombs were not specifically targeted and fell harmlessly in open country. One fell near Kingstone in the Golden Valley and is marked on a map of the area, below. It may or may not have been intended for the nearby Madley Airfield, marked on the map in red.
A large scale map of the bomb location is available for download as a JPEG file.
