Editorial notes:

1. Introduction
The source document records a survey conducted between 1701-05 of properties belonging to that part of the Lordship of the Manor of Ewyas Lacy held by John Jeffreys. Since the 13th century the Lordship had been divided between two Lords in chief, and this survey sets out an inventory of the holdings and revenues pertaining to one of the shares acquired by John Jeffreys at around the end of the 17th century, together with an introductory review of rights, restrictions and other conditions governing land tenure within that share.
The document itself is a bound handwritten book measuring about 13” by 17” with 62 pages of script. The handwriting appears to be nineteenth century.
