Description:

Succession Duty on Real Estate of Samuel Jones of the Road, Crasswall upon the death of Mary Jones on 25th October 1866, derived from George Jones the Predecessor under his will.

 

An undivided moiety of a leasehold tenement and lands held for three lives under a lease dated 1797 from the Earl of Abergavenny. Only life remaining was mother Mary Jones as above. No duty payable by George Jones.

 

Same property held for three lives under a lease dated 25th March 1819 from the Earl of Abergavenny which lives at the death of Mary Jones as above were aged 61, 59 & 54. Gross estimated rental according to the poor rate £8. Gross annual value £4 less moiety of annual chief rent 3s 2d and repairs 4s. Net Annual Value £3 12s 10d.

 

Samuel Jones was born 5th May 1824 and was brother of George Jones the Predecessor from whom the property was derived.
