(1) Rt Hon William, Lord Abergavenny

(2) Joseph Roberts of par St Cloddock, labourer

A house, gardens, orchards and 4 acres of land in Lower Mescoed, par St Clodock.

For the lives of Mary, wife of (2) aged 35, and Joseph his son aged 5, and Helen his daughter aged 9 years.

Rent £2/14/- (as a fine) and  4/- pa, with 5/- as a heriot and with suit of court.

Witnesses: John Day jnr, Job Gilbert and Robert Matthew

Endorsed:

(a) Memo re livery of seisin by Job Gilbert to (2), 15 Mar 1732 - 1733.

(b) Memo that (2), his wife and daughter have been dead some years, and that it is uncertain if Joseph son of (2) is living.  The above premises are vested in John Lewis of Newton, co Heref, yeoman, who wishes to surrender the lease to (1) so that a new one might be made, to Thomas Lewis his son, for the lives of Thomas Lewis, Sarah his wife and Sarah their daughter.’ (21 Dec 1781). Witnesses: John Lewis and Thomas Williams.
